Treasure Hunt

During the months of January and February volunteers on Jekyll Island hide glass balls on the beaches.  They hide some everyday and then people go looking for them.  This year, they started hiding them on paths and not just on the beaches.  We took a bike ride to find the treasures.  We didn't find any glass balls today, but we did find a raccoon, a tumbled biker (we helped her get back on the trail), and a deer (buck).  The deer just stood there as we got closer and took his picture.

We have been having so much fun visiting museums and going to the turtle hospital.  The chance to learn new things is exciting and addictive.  There is so much to see and experience.  I used to think of the boat as a 'car' and the water as a 'highway'.  But, the boat is not a car, it is a way to be part of the waterway and see all the beauty that nature has to offer.  Stopping along the way and living in the present is the biggest gift we have been given.  I want to live each day as fully as possible.
